Jim Lovewell - Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreational

Jim Lovewell

Colorado Springs Chamber and Economic Development Corporation

Jim is a lifetime outdoorsman and excited to serve with PPORA.  He grew up living on parks in rural southern California as the son of a career Park Ranger and himself served six years as a Park Ranger before beginning his career in the Air Force.  He completed undergraduate and graduate studies at San Diego State University.  Longboard surfing, sailing and mountain biking quickly gave way to taking on new outdoor challenges as he and his family were stationed in many different locations in the US and overseas during 24+ years in the Air Force.  During those military tours and with assignments in Colorado Springs, he picked up far too many outdoor hobbies which he still enjoys today to include all different types of biking, hiking, backpacking, snow camping, backcountry skiing, windsurfing, hydrofoil windsurfing, hunting, fishing, archery and stand-up paddleboarding to name a few.  He’s always up for finding new ways to enjoy the outdoors and helping others to do the same.

Jim serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation, where he enjoys facilitating activities which drive economic development and bring value to the business community with the aim of making the Pikes Peak region the best place to live, work and raise a family.  Outdoor recreation is a major benefit to living in the region and Jim is excited to help PPORA develop this space even further for both economic development purposes and the enrichment of all who call this wonderful community home.
